"The talent that we possess does not belong to us. It was passed down to us from our Ancestors. They who can best express what our Ancestors gave us have the most responsibility to pass this message on to the living and to the unborn, so that it can live forever. The spiritual connectedness with our Ancestors requires us to be good listeners to the lessons they teach, to observe the world around us and to articulate the essence of their message."
Tom Feelings and Seitu Ankhmaa Meneb Shemsakhu Amenwahsu

"Our children should be picked out and trained for leadership from birth. You can watch how that child handles a fork; watch that child’s ability to share with the group; watch that child’s ability to protect the group and to accept the training that will make that child improve. We should spot leaders early and begin to train them. We should make a priesthood of this effort."
John Henrik Clarke

I will train my mind, body and spirit in the warrior methods of my ancestors. I will study others' warrior methods only as a means of determining how more decisively defeat them. I will remember that those we consider the masters of "death, destruction and domination" could never have defeated us without the assistance of traitors. I will never vent my rage against family I will protect my elders, complement and children to the death. I will not individually judge my enemy. Enemy is understood in the context of nations at war. I will trust only worthy Afrikans.

“Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.”
Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed

“The European mind is a political one and for this reason constantly aware of the political effect of words and images as they are used for the purposes of manipulation. By “political” I mean to indicate an ego that consistently experiences people as others; as representatives of interests defined differently and, therefore, as conflicting with this “ego.” The individual is concerned, therefore, with the way in which his verbal expression and the image he projects can influence the behavior of those to whom he relates...” Marimba AniYurugu
